Privacy

We store the minimum: your email is hashed (SHA-256) before storage and never kept raw; deeds are recorded at city-level geolocation only; suggestions are stored under your hashed account ID with a UTC timestamp. Anonymous participation is supported throughout.

We do not sell data. Payment details, when donations launch, are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.

Cookies & local storage

OneGoodDeed sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The site keeps a few small preferences in your browser's local storage — your location choice (or “Anonymous”), a saved favourite deed, and whether sound is on. They stay on your device, are never transmitted anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes them completely.

The beta programme, and the extra information it collects

OneGoodDeed is in beta. While that is true we collect more information about how it is used than we will once it is finished, for one purpose: finding faults and making it better. That may include which features are opened and in what order, how long a screen takes to appear, errors and crashes with the technical detail that says where they happened, the kind of device and browser you use and your general region, and feedback you choose to send us.

We do not read what you write to build these measurements, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to advertise to you. They are kept for no longer than 12 months, and the extra collection described here stops when the beta programme ends.
