Frequently asked questions
Watch kindness ripple across the world
You can also ask our AI support assistant these questions in your own words — it answers
from this FAQ and can connect you with a person if you need one. It only helps with OneGoodDeed.
The basics
What is OneGoodDeed?
OneGoodDeed is a live map of good deeds happening around the world. You can watch kindness ripple across the planet in real time, then add your own deed and see it join the glow.
What are the ripples on the map?
Every ripple is a good deed logged somewhere on Earth. The map shows kindness as it happens, with hotspots you can tap to explore. It's powered by the OneGoodDeed graph.
What is 'today's OneGoodDeed'?
It's a suggested good deed for the day. Ask for today's OneGoodDeed, tap 'Give me another' for a fresh idea, or choose one from the list — then go and do it.
Is OneGoodDeed free?
Yes, OneGoodDeed is free to use. Donations are entirely optional and simply help fund and keep the platform running.
Deeds, tokens & kudos
How do I add a good deed?
Add your deed right on the page and it joins the live map as a new ripple. Contributions are checked before they're saved — good vibes only.
Are deeds checked or moderated?
Yes. Submissions are reviewed before they're saved so the map stays kind and safe — that's the 'good vibes only, checked before it's saved' promise.
What are OneGoodDeed tokens?
Every deed you register earns one OneGoodDeed token — kindness you can count. Tokens never expire, they stack up on the leaderboard, and they quietly unlock badges as your ripples grow. It's not about beating anyone; it's proof your small acts add up.
What are the kudos tiers?
Kudos tiers are earned automatically as your tokens grow: Seedling (1+), Sprout (10+), Bloomer (50+), Radiant (150+) and Beacon (500+).
Community & account
What is the leaderboard, and do I have to appear on it?
The leaderboard shows top token-holders and lets you join challenges and teams. Appearing is opt-in — you're anonymous by default. Your kindness, your call.
How do I sign in?
You can sign in with Google or Apple to join the community, take part in challenges and teams, and appear on the leaderboard if you choose to.
Can I join teams or challenges?
Yes. Sign in to create or join teams and challenges and climb the board together — ripples are better together.
Donations, data & privacy
How do donations work?
Contributions open a secure Stripe checkout. Nothing is charged on the page itself — you're only charged once you complete checkout in Stripe. Donations are optional and help fund the platform.
What is the OneGoodDeed graph?
It's the connected data behind the live map and hotspots — the structure that lets kindness be shown rippling across the world in real time.
How is my data handled, and can I delete it?
You control your data from the 'My data (GDPR)' page. If you delete your data, the deeds you registered stay in the world's running totals but are fully anonymised so they can never be traced back to you; your suggestions, pledges and account are erased.
Is my identity public when I add a deed?
No — you're anonymous by default. Deeds appear as ripples on the shared map, but your personal identity isn't shown unless you opt in to appear on the leaderboard.
Accessibility
How accessible is OneGoodDeed?
The live map is built to WCAG 2.2 AA targets: colour palettes are contrast-audited, tap targets stay at least 36px, controls carry ARIA labels, and every window closes with the Escape key. If anything is hard for you to use, email hello@onegooddeed.com and we'll put it right.
